Who Are We
The North Texas Independent Sports Officials, originally called the Allen Sports Officials Association, was formed in 1992 for the
purpose of providing basketball, football, volleyball, and baseball officials to the City of Allen, Texas.
In 1998, as a result of increased demand for sports officials in the North Dallas area, the name was changed to more adequately
describe our expanding service region. The NTISO during this period filled much of the void for sports officials below the High
School Varsity ranks in Collin County.
In 1999, after receiving a number of inquires from private and Christian schools we began providing officials at the Varsity level.
Today, we provide officials for a number of schools. School such as the Allen & Wylie Independent School District,
and many of the local private and Christian schools.
Our organization is structured to create a foundation of support for new officials as well as officials new to our area.
We provide new members with six weeks - twenty hours of pre-season training at one our NTISO training Camps. Upon
completions of training each new officials is required to officiate (2) non-pay scrimmages for the purpose of evaluating
their game performance and skill level.
Our primary goal is to promote "Better sports for kids, through better sports officials".
